National Review Editor Rich Lowry On Immigration Policy Under Trump Vs. Under Biden

Guy Benson spoke to Rich Lowry, editor of National Review, who wrote a piece that detailed how the Trump administration actually got their act together and was able to produce a successful border policy versus the crisis we have on our hands under the Biden administration.

Lowry says:

I think we’ve had a dysfunctional immigration policy in this country for decades. I think that the previous administration did themselves no favors with certain bad decisions like the child separation, as a matter of course, policy which turned into a political disaster, a humanitarian disaster. But at a certain point, after there was a crisis, during the Trump years, they got serious. They started to take advantage of laws already on the books, President Trump led some hard nosed, nasty and frankly. Kind of scared some nearby countries into finally cooperating with the United States, and it wasn’t perfect, nothing ever will be. But the Trump administration was able to cobble together a pretty successful series of plans and policies to mitigate the crisis and slow the spread of illegal immigration. The Biden folks have come in and basically thrown all of it out, which is extremely foolish, and we’re seeing the repercussions of that right now.
