Rep. Ronny Jackson: We’ll See If Omar Is Still On Foreign Affairs When Republicans Win Back The House
On Fox Across America with Jimmy Failla, Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX) talks about the repercussions that will come after the expulsion of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene from Congressional committees.
“Number one, she was elected by the people in her district with over 75% of the vote. And every bit of all the accusations that were made against her were out in the open. And the voters that voted her into Congress knew about them and they voted her into Congress anyway, 75% of her district did. So it’s not up to us, as other elected members from other districts, to decide who represents her district. It’s up to her district. And, traditionally this kind of stuff doesn’t happen for things that people said before they were members of Congress. She hasn’t said anything like that since she’s been a member of Congress. I’m a firm believer that the Democrats have no business telling the Republican Party who can sit on committees. Among our conference, the Republican conference, decides which Republican members occupy the seats that we have on the committees and the Dems on their side, and they would never want us to do this to them. This is just crazy the way this played out. It’s the first time it’s ever happened in history. And they set a very, very bad precedent. Wait until the Republicans get the House back in two years and let’s see how long Ilhan Omar stays on foreign affairs. I’m on foreign affairs now. I’ll be the first person to say she needs to go and she needs to go because of things she said while she was in Congress, not stuff she said before she got elected. But traditionally, that kind of stuff would be off limits for our party to do that to their party, but not anymore.”
