Texas Senator John Cornyn (R) spoke with Fox News Radio’s Guy Benson about today’s Judiciary Committee’s vote in the Senate to advance her nomination to a full senate floor vote. Senator Cornyn said,
“I was proud to vote in favor of Judge Byrd’s confirmation. She’s an extraordinary talent and enormously qualified for this job. And I would add a wonderful human being. And I think she deserved that unanimous vote. It Just I think, you know, it’s kind of just what my mom would say when I was growing up. I should say, you know, they’re throwing a fit and I think that’s all it was. And what they did put on some kind of show for their for their supporters, for their base, who want want, who are angry and oppose the nomination. But the fact is, they can’t do it on the merits. They recognize that the judge is highly qualified and she will, as you say, be confirmed Monday.”
