AB Stoddard: “I Think That The Race Was Always Going To Tighten Because People Were Going To Come Home”

AB Stoddard, associate editor and columnist at RealClearPolitics spoke with Fox News Radio’s Guy Benson about the state of the 2020 race. Stoddard said,

“I think that the race was always going to tighten because people were going to come home. And I and that usually happens after the convention. So I did expect also I had low expectations for both conventions and I think both conventions did the job of sort of solidifying enthusiasm on their side. So I think that the other thing that’s interesting is that the Biden campaign, because of the polling he’s enjoyed all year end before Covid, had a lead on the president. There’s been a lot of donors who want him to contest Texas and get into Georgia right now and flip North Carolina and do all this stuff that he and his team, as they’ve shown all along, are not as exuberant about. You know, they are cautious people. And so they have for months been saying this is the polls are going to tighten. We’ll never enjoy this lead up to Election Day. We are going to defend the states that we need to win to get to 270. And that means working hard in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, which the president president slipped last time, but holding New Hampshire, New Mexico, Nevada and Minnesota and playing, you know, serious defense there and making sure that they don’t have erosion there.”
