Housecall for Health: Insulin Alzheimer’s Aid

A new research study shows insulin could help with memory loss related to diseases like Alzheimer’s.

FOX’s Colleen Cappon reports in today’s “Housecall for Health”:

Researchers have found, in a small breakthrough study, that insulin may help those suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. 

Scientists at the University of Washington School of Medicine discovered that a spray of insulin up the nose daily can improve overall cognitive function for patients with memory problems and dementia.  The current study involved 104 patients that showed improvement while taking the insulin.  Experts say the next step will be larger, more extensive trials.
