Judge Andrew Napolitano: “Harmful” Federal Troops Plan “Crushes Civil Liberties”
On Fox Across America with Jimmy Failla, Fox News Senior Judicial Analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano explained why he thinks bringing federal troops into cities like Chicago is harmful and unconstitutional.
“The President is using assets that were created to defend the nation’s borders, not even to enforce domestic law, because they don’t even pretend they’re enforcing domestic law. They’re theoretically protecting private property, but in doing that, crushing the civil liberties of anybody who stands in their way, arresting people without probable cause of crime, meaning the arresting officers observed the alleged criminal act or without an arrest warrant, keeping people for several hours blindfolded, handcuffed, in the backs of unmarked vehicles and then suddenly dismissed. It’s a mess that he’s created. It’s unlawful, it’s unconstitutional, it’s counterproductive, it’s harmful, and it’s probably being done for political reasons.”
