Few films today deal with the Second Amendment from a sympathetic or positive point of view, but that’s exactly what actor Kevin Sorbo’s new film, Reliant is about. Sorbo, who starred as Hercules in the syndicated TV show, and a host of faith-based films including God’s Not Dead and Let There Be Light, is now taking on one of the most controversial topics in our culture today: the right to bear arms, from a faith point of view. This independent film will have a one-day showing in theaters on October 24th. On this episode of Lighthouse Faith podcast, Kevin is joined by his actress wife Sam Sorbo and they talk about the studio film industry which is dominated by big budget blockbusters, Hollywood’s uncomfortable but cordial relationship with faith-based audiences, and how independent filmmakers will be the best source for films that appeal to them.
