Some might call him candid while others would say cantankerous, but the intellectually sublime and cerebral Fr. George Rutler will always say what he thinks when it comes to politics, politicians, and the Pope. Fr. Rutler is the pastor of St. Michael’s Church in New York City, has written several books, and is a lifelong student of history. He gives his take on the sexual abuse crisis, the pontificate of Pope Francis and New York’s new abortion law.  Even though the Catholic Church is undergoing an intense trial by fire, Rutler believes it will be stronger and better. But he saves most of his criticism for New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo and the state’s new abortion law.
