Sean Spicer: I Have Been Asked By Reporters To Give Questions For Interviews With Politicians
“Sometimes, yeah, it depends. There will be times when a host will reach out and say I am doing an interview with so and so, is there anything you guys know of or what would be the 5 things you would ask so it depends on the show and depends on the guest but I can’t say that we haven’t been asked for that before.”
—Sean Spicer on if he has ever been solicited by reporters or anchors for questions before interviews with politicians
Sean Spicer, the RNC’s Chief Strategist & Communications Director, joined Kilmeade & Friends to discuss the Trump campaign strategy heading into Election Day, how he tries to ensure democrats get asked tough questions, how the RNC ground game is helping get voters to the polls, if Paul Ryan saying he is willing to campaign with Trump will help and whether or not Trump has given any thought on who will be a part of his cabinet.

Spicer on how he actively tries to get questions out there via Twitter when someone like Hillary Clinton is being interviewed
(SPICER) If Hillary Clinton is going on a show, I will tweet at them, make sure you ask the following, don’t let her get away with the following…. Do we try to get the word that hey, you are going to have Hillary Clinton on you better ask her about her collusion with the Clinton Foundation, we will tweet it out, we will push stuff out but we want to make sure people don’t get away, don’t go out and say or do stuff without our side making sure we throw ideas out there.

Spicer on reporter John Harwood letting the Clinton campaign plant questions to ask Jeb Bush
(SPICER) That’s a different story and a very important distinction. There is a big difference between that scenario in which a member of the media is giving advice or warning or heads up … If you have Robby Mook on your show tomorrow and you say Sean what are the 3 things you would ask him if you are me…that’s just being a good journalist, that’s something you say, ok I am having so and so on, what would you ask … that’s what journalists do. I think in the case of that, that’s one where they are playing , he is literally advocating saying here is information you should know, heads up, I am going to give you inside information, that is the equivalent of insider trading, that’s unbelievable that occurred. I really am appalled at that whole scenario.
