Ron Fournier On Hillary Clinton: When She Thinks She’s Right She Will Play By A Different Set Of Rules

Ron Fournier, National Journal Sr. Political Columnist and author of “Love That Boy: What Two Presidents, Eight Road Trips And My Son Taught Me About A Parent’s Expectations” called into Kilmeade and Friends today to discuss his latest piece “Why Can’t Hillary Clinton Stop Lying?” Fournier addressed the former secretary of state’s Sunday interview with FOX News’ Chris Wallace in which she says “Director Comey said my answers were truthful, and what I’ve said is consistent with what I have told the American people, that there were decisions discussed and made to classify retroactively certain of the emails.”

Regarding Hillary Clinton’s lie about Director Comey’s statements, Fournier said:

In one respect did say that she was truthful in her FBI interview. Now of course she was truthful in her FBI interview because if you tell a lie you will go to jail. That’s a very narrow slice of it. That she didn’t legally break a law by lying to the FBI to such a degree in which that she could be charged for perjury. But Comey did say again, and again, and again that what she told the American public for months was wrong. And she knows that. And when you’re knowingly misleading the public it may not be perjury but it is a lie.

Fournier on why he thinks Hillary Clinton was not indicted:

Knowing the evidence before he laid it out, because much of what he laid out we already knew, and then listening to him lay it out, I can actually see why a prosecutor would not bring charges against her. It is really hard to prosecute a case like this, and her case isn’t like the ones where people have gone to jail, there are substantial differences. So I think it’s a close call, I think it’s a hell of a bumper sticker- “I wasn’t quite indicted”.

Fournier on the current state of the election:

Donald Trump surprises me eight times a day. It’s amazing that these people who want to be president can do things like smear the reputation of a Gold Star family, they can propose that be ban everyone of a certain religion from our country… It astounds me how inept both these parties are that out of 300 million people in this country these are the best two candidates we can get.
