Lyman: Establishment Republicans Actually Want The GOP To Lose In November So They Can Put The Blame On Trump

Elections Correspondent for The Federalist Brianna Lyman joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to explain why the outcome of November’s midterm elections will not be a referendum on President Trump’s record, even if Democrats are able to take back control of both chambers of Congress.

“Yes, people are frustrated with these gas prices, which is a result of this war in Iran, no doubt. But I think it’s also more of a referendum on people are willing to give President Trump the benefit of the doubt because he always comes out on top. When you think Trump can’t make something better or fix something, he somehow does it and does it better than we could have imagined. I think there would be more of referendum on the fact that Republicans controlled Congress for two years, and they couldn’t do one of the biggest key items that everybody wanted, which was voter ID. We wanted the SAVE Act and Republicans came up with every excuse in the book not to do it. And the only legislative accomplishment they have which is thanks to President Trump Is the One Big, Beautiful bill. To that end. I just want to add in I do think there are a lot of Republicans who are hoping to lose because they want to say well This is just a pushback against President Trump. People want the old RINO back That’s what the RINO establishment people want to happen, I think.”
