Former Trump 2024 Campaign Deputy Communications Director Caroline Sunshine joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to give her take on why reality television personality Spencer Pratt appears to be on track to advance to a runoff against incumbent Karen Bass in the Los Angeles mayoral election.
“I don’t think Republicans are near a majority, but I actually think that wasn’t what this election was about. I actually think it tapped into more of the apolitical, disaffected, non-partisan people who just at a certain baseline, your quality of life, they always say, right, if you’re not into politics, politics is going to be into you at some point, right? And I think, you know, what’s interesting is you’re so right, like there’s a class divide out here in California, you have the working and middle class, and then the, you know gated community elites. I actually think particularly in What happened was the gated community elite bubble burst, the line between reality and the chaos on the other side of it and the gated community elite, hat thin line got punctured by Karen Bass’s handling of homelessness and crime out here. And so what I keep telling people about Pratt is it really wasn’t the Republican vote that carried Pratt out here, it was people like Ted Sarandos, who’s the CEO of Netflix. His wife, Nicole Avant, was the ambassador to the Bahamas under Barack Obama. So for people who don’t know, that’s also code for you don’t need a lot of money. And so she’s not a Republican, and just a couple of weeks ago, she threw a lot of money behind Pratt. And so it really is actually the gated community Democrat elite vote out here in L.A. that split for Pratt and then I think put him in the position that he’s in now.”
