Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA), the first female combat veteran elected to the US Senate and author of DAUGHTER OF THE HEARTLAND: My Ode to the Country that Raised Me, joined us on the Guy Benson Show today to discuss the ongoing partial government shutdown affecting DHS. Democratic leadership rejected another proposal by the Republicans to fund the department, and Ernst reacted harshly, saying that Democrats “hate the president more than they love America.”  Sen.
