Texas Republican Congressman and GOP candidate for U.S. Senate in the Lone Star State Wesley Hunt joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to highlight some of the financial benefits of the newly unveiled savings initiative for children, dubbed “Trump accounts”.
“When I got out of college and just invested in the S&P 500. I mean, I wish I would have done better twenty years ago, although I’ve done decently. At the end of the day, that’s exactly what this is about. This is about learning about compounding interest. This is about learning how the growth of the of the S&P 500 impacts you every single year and how that growth generates generational wealth for not just Black people, White people, Asian people, you name it. It does it for all Americans. And so to get these young people started on how much you can grow a thousand dollars over ten years, twenty years, thirty years, that’s exactly how financial literacy begins. And the thing about it is this again, this is colorblind. Anyone can learn this. So to start this at an earlier age, and it’s instead of like my kids, they get a quarter in their piggy bank and they’re enamored by it. Look, here’s a thousand dollars. Watch this thing grow year after year after year. Then when you become a working adult, you basically then build on those principles and then grow that thousand dollars that you got started with when you were born. I think it is brilliant. I commend the Dells for investing in this. I think this is gonna be an absolute game changer for the future.”
