Ohio Republican Congressman and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla talk about the lunacy of how his colleagues on the other side of the aisle are unwilling to end this government shutdown unless there is a deal on expiring Obamacare tax credits.
“This Obamacare, enhanced premium tax credit, the person, the family, they don’t even see it. It goes straight to the insurance company. So there’s this incentive to get the insurance company, oh what a deal this is for me. So that’s part of the problem. And the Democrats put this in place, I think in ’21 during COVID, then they re-upped it. They did it. Not one Republican voted for it. They did. And they set the expiration date. Now they’re saying, oh, it’s important that we shut down the government so we can keep giving this huge subsidy to insurance companies. And we know that everything we told you about Obamacare turned out not to be true. But nevertheless, we still think we should expand. That makes absolutely no sense.”
