Oklahoma Republican Senator Markwayne Mullin joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to push back on claims coming from Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and other Democrats regarding the causes of this ongoing federal government shutdown.

“If you actually want to talk about Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security, this fight we’re having doesn’t affect it at all because that Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, all falls underneath mandatory spending, which is what one big beautiful bill dealt with. What we’re dealing with is discretionary spending. So what they’re talking about doesn’t even exist in this fight. But when they’re saying that they’re not trying to restore benefits for illegals, they’re absolutely lying because they’re trying to reach back to the one big beautiful bill and reinstate what President Trump took out by fraud, waste and abuse because underneath Biden, right before he left office he paroled 98% of the illegals that crossed our border illegally, 98%. Now, didn’t do a background check on them, just gave them parole status. When they gave them a parole status, it made them eligible for Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security benefits. What the one big beautiful bill did is it stripped that out, said no, you’re not eligible. If you didn’t enter this country legally, and you didn’t you didn’t legally go through the process, then you are not eligible for that. They specifically in their CR, their continuing resolution, that they want to charge the American people $1.5 trillion to open the government for four weeks, this isn’t a year long CR. This is for four weeks. They strip out that exact line and sentence word for word in their CR. But at the same time, the flight of hand is saying that they’re not doing it. It’s an absolute lie. They are holding the American government hostage to give illegal aliens the by the way, the ones that ICE is going after to try to detain to give them benefits underneath taxpayer funded health care.”
