McDonald’s Sees Sales Slump
McDonald’s claims tariffs are to blame for tumbling sales but that’s a little hard to believe…
I’m Tomi Lahren, more next.
McDonald’s is no doubt an American fast food institution, but even so, first quarter earnings showed a steep sales drop for the mega chain, down 3.6%.
Now leadership claims this is due to “economic uncertainty” and “heightened anxiety” around the president’s proposed tariffs but that seems like a stretch.
President Trump enacted the first part of his tariff plan just a month ago and sales for the chain were dropping well before that. Also, when folks are pinching pennies they tend to eat more cheap fast food…
The CEO did acknowledge a diminished consumer sentiment and that seems much more on the nose.
Perhaps the MAHA- make America healthy again movement- inspired by HHS Secretary RFK Jr has something to do with a changing attitude towards fast food and perhaps that’s not a bad thing…
I’d also like to point out that with states like California mandating a HUGE fast food worker minimum wage bump, many restaurants including McDonald’s have taken a hit or closed shop in California altogether.
So nice try, Mickey D’s! You can’t blame it all on Donald Trump!
