New York Post financial correspondent Lydia Moynihan joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to give her take on President Trump floating a new proposal which would impose a 100 percent tariff on all foreign-produced movies.
“I will also point out as well, when he’s talking about Hollywood and films, I think he’s using that as a catch-all to describe entertainment writ large, because there’s a lot of TV shows. And let’s be real, most of us are watching TV shows, we’re not going to the theater at all. Also too, I mean when you look at some of the things that were nominated for the Oscars, I know this feels like ages ago but they were bizarre. I’m like, yeah we don’t need more of that, we can tax those films. But I think he’s talking about entertainment more broadly. And ‘Suits’ famously, I don’t know I’ve been going down a Meghan Markle rabbit hole for quite some time and she talks a lot about how she lived in Toronto for a decade and that’s been a long-standing thing. So it’s not just the film it’s all the tv shows too. And I think that’s what he’s getting at.”
Jimmy and Lydia also talk about which celebrity might have given the president this idea about the film industry. Listen to the podcast to hear the full conversation!
