Secretary of the Interior, Doug Burgum, joined Brian Kilmeade to discuss President Trump’s first 100 days. Burgum says the clear leadership and executive orders are reasons why the Trump Administration is getting so much done. When asked about what has been done to expand drilling, Burgum says drilling is just part of President Trump’s mandate for expanding U.S. energy production, which he sees as the foundation for all other industries. Burgum points to the need for us to sell energy to our friends and allies being a core principle of President Trump, along with undoing the Biden era policies that led to Iran and Russia being a discount gas station for China.
Secretary Burgum also discussed being asked by the military to turn over a portion of land at the border to deal with illegal immigration. Burgum explained how President Theodore Roosevelt in 1907 signed legislation that strips of land at the border in Arizona, New Mexico, Arizona, California can be turned over by the Secretary of Interior through a secretarial order to the Department of Defense, meaning if someone steps on that land, they are stepping on a military installation and therefore can be detained by the military.
Plus, Secretary Burgum broke down President Trump declaring a national energy emergency because we don’t have enough electricity to power our electrical grid. Burgum says we need electricity to win the A.I. arms race against China.
