Mike Pompeo, former United States Secretary of State, spoke to Brian Kilmeade about the news that Chinese fighters were captured by Ukrainians. Pompeo says it is brazen for China to have their people on the ground but it tells him they want to see what is happening in Ukraine and also to have their people get combat experience. Pompeo points out that we need to build out our friends and partners across the world to combat these forces of China and others working together against the United States.
On the continuing negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, Pompeo says while Putin screwed up the invasion, he is still determined to win, prevail, drag out the war and cut a deal that benefits him and not America. Pompeo does not think President Trump will let that happen. Pompeo believes we have the capacity to put Russia in a place where we don’t have to worry about them invading Europe again. Pompeo added, President Trump did that and deterred them for four years and then President Biden came in and it all fell away.
On the latest with Iran, Pompeo says a deal would be fine but it has to be the total, complete destruction of the Iranian nuclear program. Pompeo stressed it can’t be where we go back to doing inspections on their nuclear program.
