Florida Republican Congressman Byron Donalds joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to push back on the assertion coming from some Democrats the U.S. is on a path toward a constitutional crisis under the leadership of President Trump.

“I think what most people don’t know, which the Democrats will never acknowledge, is that when you look at federal law, especially anything that’s really been done over the last 20 years, everything is written giving discretion to the secretary of whatever agency we’re talking about. So it’s not even a thing where Congress says, we’re passing this law that says, Congress’s intent is for A, B, C, D, and here’s the money we’re giving you to do this specific item, this specific book club in Slovenia, whatever the case might be like, Congress doesn’t stipulate that stuff. It’s all given as discretion to the secretary of whatever department under the president. So the Trump team is reading the law and they’re like, well, you know, the Treasury secretary has discretion. Okay, Well, Ellen, go in there. Let’s look at this. And so that’s what’s happening. And the Democrats don’t like it because they created the federal government this way so that even if they lost elections, the bureaucracy would still move regardless of who was sitting in the elected positions. And Trump is not taking all of the authority under the permissive status that Democrats have given to the executive branch to essentially peel back the executive branch. And people are loving it.”

Rep. Donalds also tells Jimmy about his experience attending the Daytona 500 on Sunday with President Trump. Listen to the podcast to hear what else they talked about!
