Chris Sununu, former Governor of New Hampshire, spoke with Brian Kilmeade about how the democrats are “judge shopping” when challenging President Trump’s executive orders and DOGE. Sununu said that despite setbacks from the courts President Trump will ultimately win on appeals. If he doesn’t win it is still not a dead end because that means Trump will push Congress to change the laws and give him the specific powers needed.
On USAID, Sununu believes it started out as a good idea but it became an unaccountable bureaucratic mess. Sununu thinks that Musk will make each sub department within USAID have to come back and justify their existence.
On the push by President Trump to end the Department of Education, Sununu supports the effort because removing federal authority will allow states to localize education dollars without being beholden to the federal government. Sununu also said that this will empower parents to have a stronger voice on school boards. Sununu did warn that it may get worse in some states initially after the Department of Education is disbanded before it will get better.
