General H.R. McMaster (Ret), former National Security Advisor during the first Trump Administration, tells Brian Kilmeade that the military will not have a problem with Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth. McMaster says he knows the officers in the military understand their role under the constitution and will give the Secretary of Defense their full support.
On the Ukraine/Russia war, McMaster believes Russia is at a breaking point taking heavy casualties and having to use North Korean troops. McMaster says President Trump has an extraordinary opportunity to come in from a position of strength by rejecting the policies of the Biden administration with their restrictions on weapons and how they are used by Ukraine against Russia. McMaster is a believer in giving Ukraine a loan to buy weapons from us which would help bolster the Ukrainians psychologically.
Looking at phase two of the ceasefire with Israel and Hamas, McMaster says to get a sustainable outcome in Gaza for Israeli security, you have to destroy Hamas. McMaster said he thinks President Trump could help get a multinational force of some kind to give space for the creation of a Palestinian political entity that is not committed to the destruction of Israel.
When asked about the potential of an investigation into General Milley that would demote him in rank, McMaster responded it is dangerous to drag the military into partisan politics. On those worried about DEI within the military, McMaster says there are legitimate concerns but he doesn’t know any uniformed officer that was buying into that nonsense.
