Senator James Lankford (R-OK) spoke to Brian Kilmeade about how fast President Trump and the GOP agenda has moved since Inauguration Day. Lankford cited passing the Laken Riley Act, dealing with border security, energy and getting rid of DEI.
Lankford also discussed the Democrats holding up the confirmations of President Trump. Lankford says typically right after an inauguration you want to make sure the President has his Secretary of State, intelligence leadership, national security team and Department of Defense leadership on the very first day and if not the first day, within the first week.
Lankford believes John Ratcliff will be confirmed overwhelmingly and the Senate will continue to work though the weekend to get the rest of President Trump’s core national security team in place if the Democrats continue to block confirmations.

On the timing of confirmations, Lankford believes they will get Ratcliff some time today while Hegseth should be conformed by Friday night and Kristi Noem over the weekend. One nomination Lankford says he is not aligned with yet is Robert F Kennedy Jr. RFK Jr. has views Lankford wants to have further conversations about that don’t align with his as a lifelong Democrat.

Plus, Lankford spoke about the bill he introduced, “Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act” to protect newborns that survive abortions by requiring they receive care from health care practitioners. Lankford said while they got a majority with 52 votes but they were unable to get the 60 votes needed to start debate.
