New York Post reporter Jennie Taer joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to shed light on the task President Trump and members of his administration have in front of them as they work to reverse Biden-era policies and secure the U.S. southern border.
“What happened under the Biden administration is it was a free for all. People were streaming across that border. And then, you know, we were covering it and we would see them getting released into the communities just a day or two later. And then from there, following their journey to Chicago or New York City, and then seeing that crisis explode in those sanctuaries in the country, the leaders responding against what was happening and the tide kind of changing with all of that. And I think that there’s a lot weighing on this president to take action immediately. And that’s what we’re seeing so far. Border Patrol sources saying that they’re receiving orders not to release people that, you know, the remain in Mexico policy is coming back. They’ll be kicking migrants back to Mexico to await their immigration hearings that are in the U.S. And then this mass deportation operation, which is, you know, ICE is going to go after targets who are criminals, who also have removal orders, who should be deported at this moment. And they’re going to work to try to get as much space to detain people so that they can eventually remove them. During the Biden administration, it was kind of like this cat and mouse game where they were releasing people. They were catching them later, then they were releasing them again. And it was never there were never real consequences. So, so far, right out of the gate, it’s been the hammer coming down pretty hard. And we’ll see because there is, again, a lot of work that needs to be done to secure everything.”
Jimmy and Jennie also talk about how the Trump administration is planning to carry out a mass deportation operation. Listen to the podcast to hear what else they discussed!
