Ken Burns, award winning documentary filmmaker, joined Brian Kilmeade to discuss his upcoming 6 part, 12 hour documentary, “The American Revolution” airing on PBS in November. Burns, who has been working on the documentary for 10 years, explains how the American Revolution was simultaneously a war for independence and a bloody civil war pitting families against families. What began as a disagreement between Englishmen over Indian land and taxes and representation blew up into a global war with unbelievable consequences.
Looking ahead to 2026, Burns believes that the celebration of America’s 250th anniversary is an opportunity to bring us together over our shared history after years of being divided.
