Evening Edition: Winds Ease But California Fire Fighters Still Battle
The City of Los Angeles is getting some relief as “Particularly Dangerous Situation” warnings expired midweek and firefighters are gaining ground on the destructive Palisades and Eaton fires. At least twenty four people are dead, over 40,000 acres have been burned and more than twelve thousand structures have been destroyed or damaged with over eighty thousand resident still under evacuation orders. The investigation into the cause wildfires very start is going on and talk already has begun about what was learned and what new preventative measures could be put in place to mitigate future fires.
FOX’s John Saucier speaks with Brian Fennessy, Fire Chief of the Orange County Fire Authority, who says as bad as these fires were, they could have been worse and there will be serious discussions on what can be done differently.
