Matt Taibbi spoke to Brian Kilmeade about Mark Zuckerberg explaining to Joe Rogan the pressure he faced from the Biden administration and all the changes he is making to Facebook & Instagram. Taibbi says the changes on the whole are a net positive, and the information Zuckerberg shared regarding the pressure from the White House was public information for a while. Taibbi believes Zuckerberg is speaking out more about the White House intimidation has more to do with Donald Trump being in power rather than having a change of heart on Facebook’s role in suppressing free speech. Taibbi described how when he was given access to the Twitter files to initially look at the Hunter Biden laptop story being suppressed, was stunned to uncover there were thousands of communications between the FBI and Twitter. Taibbi believes what happened with Facebook was worse than what they found in the Twitter files because those communications came directly from the White House ordering them to take things down, which was well beyond just suppressing the Hunter Biden laptop story. Taibbi does not think people realize the scope of how the government and social media platforms worked together and believes all of this is unconstitutional and it’s still to be litigated.
