Cruz had this to say on his optimism that the Laken Riley Act will pass in the Senate:

“Guy, I do feel optimistic about that the Senate is going to vote on the Laken Riley Bill on Friday in order for us to take it up. It takes 60 votes, which means we need to get seven Democrats to vote for it. I think the odds are looking pretty good that we’re going to get seven Democrats. As you noted, a number of Democrats have publicly supported it. John Fetterman is a co-sponsor of the bill… I think that that is an indication of just how clearly the voters spoke in November, that they are sick and tired of these open borders that are endangering our safety and are endangering our families.”
