Evening Edition: End Of al-Assad’s Autocratic Regime In Syria
Syrian rebels, over the weekend, seized the capital Damascus and forced President Bashar al-Assad to flee to Russia. It ends thirteen years of civil war and more than fifty years of the al-Assad family’s brutal reign. The lightening military advance by rebels was led by a former al-Qaeda affiliate which has caused a huge change in the region and has lessened the influence of Iran and Russia.
FOX’s Eben Brown speaks with Alex Hogan, FOX news foreign correspondent reporting from Tel Aviv, who says the rebels now face a monumental task in governing the country while Israel has taken action in the Golan Heights in order to secure the border with Syria.
