RNC Chairman Michael Whaley joins Fox Across America With guest host Paul Gleiser to shed light on what the priorities will be for the GOP in the early stages of President-elect Trump’s second term.
“The conversations that I have had with President Trump following the election, he immediately turned to two different things that he’s focusing on. One is the transition and getting the agenda moving forward. And the second is how are we going to make sure that we win the midterms? We’ve got to save the Senate. We’ve got to expand our majority in the House. You know, what is the RNC going to look like? What is the campaign apparatus going to look like? And the flip side of that is we need the House and the Senate to move his agenda forward, you know, because there’s a lot of things that he could do under current law with current authority. You know, he could go in and he can restore the border the way that it needs to be built out. But for him to get tax cuts done, you know, no tax on tips, no tax on security, no tax on overtime, These are things he ran on. It’s going to take Congress to be able to move forward on that. So, you know, we’re very aggressive right now trying to make sure that we’re focused on these first 100 days. But, the work for 2026 is absolutely critical. And I would just say, I’ve had a number of conversations with House Speaker Mike Johnson with the Senate leadership team. And we’re going to be hand-in-glove working with them to make sure that these 2026 elections are going to put us in a place where we can finish this term and make sure that America is building over those last two years.”
