Thiessen had this to say in response to David Pluoffe’s comments blaming others for Kamala Harris’ big loss in November:

“You have to have a good candidate, a good leader who can lead you. And so candidate quality is everything. And they had a crappy candidate and they could have come up with a decent candidate maybe if they had had a competitive process. Yeah, because that’s what the primaries are for. It’s a a gantlet you have to run through in order to prove that you have the mettle to take on the other party’s candidate. And they didn’t even go through that. And they tried to staple her onto the ticket and give it and put her on the top of the ticket. And it was a disaster.”
