Evening Edition: Iraqi Militias Enter Syria As Conflict There Escalates

The ongoing civil war in Syria has reached its thirteenth year and what looked to be a stalemate between rebel forces and those of President Bashar al-Assad has picked up in a big way. Rebel forces have taken a large swath of land in the Northwest of Syria including the city of Aleppo. In another concerning development Iraqi militias, backed by Iran, have entered Syria to help the government fight the rebels.

FOX’s Eben Brown speaks with Dr. David Adesnik, a senior fellow and the director of research at Foundation of Defense of Democracies with a focus on Syria and Iran, about this escalation in the conflict and he explains the various groups involved.
