York had this to say on Jack Smith’s DC case against Trump:

“I mean, the word that was often used in analysis of the case was novel. There are all these novel charges that have never been brought before and certainly against a former president. And it was just a bad idea to do it. And both sides were certainly dug in. Jack Smith was not going to go anywhere… he would never say, I’m trying to get this done before the election. So that didn’t happen. And I think this is probably the best outcome possible in this situation.”
