RNC National Spokesperson Elizabeth Pipko joins Fox Across America With guest host Kennedy to explain why there was a lot of confidence among those in President-elect Trump’s inner circle about his chances of defeating Vice President Harris during the final weeks leading up to the election.
“So internally, we actually saw ourselves pretty much up for the last consistent few weeks, but it was a smaller margin than what ended up being the results that we saw. However, I will say it was kind of an internal feeling that most of us shared, those of us that had been involved as long as I had just saying, hey, this feels like 2016. The polls are not accurate, right? Everyone that I spoke to kind of shared that sentiment. For those last few weeks, I was on the road quite a bit. And everywhere I’d go, mostly swing states, obviously, everyone I’d meet with tell me they were voting for Donald Trump. People would tell me they had switched their vote for the first time. They’re voting Republican for the first time or they’re voting for Trump again. And they’re so excited. And I just got very similar feelings in 2016 where I would go to the office every day, know that the media was reporting that we had no chance of winning. But for some reason I just felt confident because everyone I was speaking to was telling me they were voting Trump. So it was a very similar feeling for a lot of us. I spent a lot of time with Lara Trump, our RNC co-chair, and she said the same thing. It just made 2016 come back to life because no matter where you went, the reality just didn’t match up with what was portrayed across mainstream media. The people wanted what they wanted. They were going to vote, how they were going to vote, and no one was going to tell them otherwise. People love to tell the American people how to think, how to feel, and unfortunately, even how to vote. And I think much like in 2016, this was a time where the American people said we’re voting how we want. We know what’s best for us no matter what it is that you’re going to say.”
