Finland’s Foreign Minister, Elina Valtonen, spoke to Brian Kilmeade about the impact of Donald Trump’s election may have on relations between the two counties. Valtonen says America is our closest partnered ally across the Atlantic and are very happy there was another free election with a clear result and are looking forward to working with President Trump and his team. When asked if she is worried about the future of NATO, Valtonen is not worried and explained how Finland has one of the strongest armies in Europe and are committed to contributing to the security of the entire alliance. Valtonen believes America understand the importance of friends and allies and the many challenges we face, especially the threats coming from Russia, Iran North Korea, and China. Valtonen also addressed potential of Donald Trump implementing tariffs. Valtonen believes we need to have more gree trade among friends and partners with less protectionism when it comes to tariffs, especially targeted towards close partners and allies.
