Hung Cao: If I Had Tim Kaine’s Success Rate, “I Would Be Dead”

Hung Cao, a retired Navy Captain and Republican nominee for Senate in Virginia, joined The Guy Benson Show today. Cao shared his harrowing story of fleeing communist Vietnam with his family in 1975 and his journey to the United States. Cao discusses how his upbringing and his family’s escape from communism inspired him to serve in the U.S. Navy, paying back the country that gave him refuge. He’s now running for Senate, facing off against incumbent Tim Kaine, who Cao calls one of the “Terrible Tims” of the 2024 election cycle, and Benson and Cao dive into his candidacy and why he’s focused on bringing his values of service and sacrifice to Washington. Cao had this to say on Tim Kaine, his radical incumbent opponent in the VA Senate race:

“He co-sponsored 227 piece of legislation and only three made it through. And one of them was renaming a post office. So that’s a 99% failure rate. I diffused bombs for living, and our motto is initial success or total failure. I would not be on the phone with you right now if I had a 99% failure rate. I would be dead. And so this is what we’re paying for. A guy who can’t get bills across, and that all he does is he’s just a rubber stamp for people like Kamala Harris and Joe Biden. And we don’t need that. We need people that are going to fight for the Commonwealth of Virginia and fight for America.”
