Netflix cancellations spiked after its big boss endorsed Kamala Harris!

Netflix is finding that out the hard way after cancellations nearly tripled following a big Kamala endorsement from the platform’s big boss, Reed Hastings.

Hastings is the co-founder and chairman of Netflix and he chose to make his political prerogative public on social media and followed that up with a huge donation to an anti-Trump PAC. 

This went down in July and in tandem the platform saw a 2.8% rate of cancellations – known as churn in the industry. This drop represented the highest rate since February for the streaming service, which has the lowest rate of churn in the industry, according to the researcher Antenna.

I’m sure Netflix will come out of this just fine, but perhaps this does send a message to these big wigs that perhaps ticking off half the country isn’t the best business move!
