Congressmen Jason Smith, House Ways & Means Chairman, joined Brian Kilmeade and discussed the bipartisan effort to get help to people affected by Hurricane Helene. Smith addressed Harris gaining traction with voters on the economy, saying she is good at pushing her talking points but believes her economic plan hasn’t addressed the issues affecting Americans who are struggling to put food on their table. Smith points to Harris being in charge of the economy with President Biden for the last three and a half years and having fixed nothing. Smith added, “Harris saying she’s going to fix the economy is like an arsonist trying to sell fire insurance.” On the upcoming election, Smith is confident the GOP will hold the majority and cites how in 2016 and 2020, when Trump was on the ballot, the House gained seats and the only time they lost seats was in 2018, when Trump was not on the ballot.
