Co-Anchor of “America’s Newsroom” Bill Hemmer joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to shed light on how we should perceive Vice President Kamala Harris’ recent momentum in the polls.
“In 2016, they underestimated Trump’s support. They did it again in 2020. Now, I I’m told by some of the leading pollsters that they’ve compensated for that this time around. So they’ve changed a little bit of the methodology a little. And if you do an online poll, chuck it. It doesn’t mean anything. And for a long time with the pollsters, one is they want a human being on the other end of the line. But now you’ve got a percentage of the election public or the polling public who, they don’t want to talk on the phone. So it forces the pollsters to go to text message. So that’s a change. And we won’t know whether or not they’re getting it right until November 5th or November 6th. And so that’s just something to keep in mind. The other thing I’m going to say is that we believe, our polling unit, that Trump’s support, on the floor is 48%. And on the ceiling, it’s 50. It’s not 51. It’s not 47. It has always fluctuated between 48 and 50%. All right, so if on election night, he’s at 48, she’s got a chance to be at 48.5 in some of these battleground states.”
