Evening Edition: More Questions About The Secret Service Following Second Assassination Attempt
The investigation into the second apparent assassination attempt of former president Donald Trump continues.
The suspect, Ryan Routh, is in a Florida jail cell and is facing federal gun charges and could face more later. Authorities say Routh was carrying a loaded rifle on the perimeter of Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, where they believe he intended to shoot the former President.
While the Secret Service thwarted his apparent deadly plans, questions remain about how anyone was able to get so close to a presidential candidate, who was nearly killed by a shooter’s bullet just two months ago.
John Iannarelli, a former FBI Special Agent, joins the FOX News Rundown: Evening Edition to discuss what key questions investigators are trying to answer and what the Secret Service can do to better protect politicians and candidates.
