Retired NYPD inspector Paul Mauro joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to share his thoughts on the lack of answers thus far in the investigation into the July 13th assassination attempt against former President Trump.
“Realistically, you know, let’s understand something. I think a lot of people don’t realize this. The way that these investigations have sort of been parceled out, the FBI does not have the investigation into the failures of the Secret Service. I think that’s a misconception. They’re investigating the attempted murder of a former U.S. president. They have the ticket on that. There’s an actual statute. There’s a federal crime for trying to kill a former president. They have that. The two civilians that were wounded and Corey Comperatore was killed. That is a Pennsylvania State Police case. So then who is investigating the failure of the Secret Service? Well you have various congressional committees, including the task force that’s out in Butler now doing a walk through at the crime scene. But then you also have the inspector general of DHS, who’s kind of the IAB of DHS. What’s the problem with that? Well, the parent agency of the Secret Service is Homeland Security. They put it under Homeland Security, which is probably a bad idea to begin with. But whatever. Which means all of this tracks to Mayorkas. Now we know about him. He’s the biggest do nothing in government and very politicized. The guy that’s given us our current border. And that I.G., the inspector general who’s really supposed to have the ticket on this internally is under him. So, you know, he’s not going to come out with something penetrative here that really faults the leadership from the top, and that would be above Cheadle going to Mayorkas. So I have no faith in any of that. So really the only place we’re going to get any answers is likely in Congress. And you can bet we’re not going to get any solid answers until after 5 November.”
