Trey Gowdy spoke to Brian Kilmeade about night one of the DNC. Gowdy said that President Biden did not pass the torch last night, it was a larceny that took it away from him. Gowdy explained how he finds it admirable how the Democrats are willing to do anything to win and his question for republicans is, are you willing to do what it takes to win? Gowdy believes Trump and republicans have to show they are willing to have discipline focusing on the issues because nobody cares who is better looking or about race and gender, they care about the border, economy, inflation, national security and crime. Gowdy strongly feels If it comes down to policy, Republicans win, if it comes down to personality, Republicans are going to lose.
Gowdy also weighed in on Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office saying they would not oppose former Donald Trump’s request to push his sentencing date for his hush-money conviction until after the November election, leaving the decision up to New York Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan. Gowdy said when Trump was convicted his numbers went up and Democrats know if they sentence him to prison they will make Trump a martyr and may be guaranteeing his victory. With that in mind, Gowdy thinks Judge Juan Merchan will either postpone or sentence Trump to probation.
