“THIS IS ABSURD”: Brian Riedl Dismantles Kamala’s Price Gouging “Ban”
Brian Riedl, Senior Fellow at the Manhattan Institute, joined Guy Benson on the Guy Benson Show today to discuss the pitfalls of Kamala Harris’ proposed ban on price gouging. They explored how this policy could lead to nationwide food shortages, drawing parallels to the 1970s when price controls resulted in significant shortages. Riedl and Benson also tackled the concerning tax proposals from both Kamala Harris and Donald Trump regarding the elimination of taxes on tips, and how Gov. Tim Walz’s “mind your own business” rhetoric fails to address every issue. Listen to the full interview below!

Riedl had this to say on Harris’ soon-to-be announced price gouging “ban”:
“I mean the absurdity here is price gouging is not the reason that prices are rising. She specifically called out grocery prices. The profit margins in the grocery industry are 1.2%. That is razor thin profit margins. They are not price gouging. This is absurd.”
