Evening Edition: Violent Political Turmoil In Venezuela And Bangladesh
Tensions in Venezuela remain extremely high after a government run electoral authority declared Nicolas Maduro the winner of last week’s presidential election without supplying voting tallies to prove the victory. The Venezuelan attorney general, who is a close ally of Maduro, announced he is investigating opposition leaders, this as the Maduro government has arrested thousands of opponents of the current government. Meanwhile, the parliament in Bangladesh has been dissolved after weeks of student protests across the country that have burned down police stations and killed hundreds of protesters.
