Sen. Scott had this to say on Trump selecting JD Vance as his VP:
“I like him… he went through a tough childhood, and he figured it out… he’s bucked leadership… but he’s done it with information and knowledge… JD is a great pick.”
Rep. Kat Cammack
Our second interview of the day was Congresswoman Kat Cammack, representing Florida’s 3rd Congressional District. She joined the Guy Benson Show to discuss pressing issues including the lack of accountability from DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and the Biden Administration regarding the recent assassination attempt on President Trump. Congresswoman Cammack also weighed in on the excuses offered by Secret Service director Kimberly Cheatle concerning the incident. In addition, she shared insights into the selection of Ohio Senator JD Vance as Vice President on Trump’s ticket, highlighting the significance of Vance being a millennial on an otherwise traditional slate. Rep. Cammack had this to say on the lack of accountability from the Biden administration on the attempt on President Trump’s life:
“I think this speaks to a bigger issue that we have in government today, particularly in the Biden administration. There is such a lack of accountability and personal responsibility. I absolutely believe that under a Trump administration, a Bush administration, a Clinton administration. If this happened under any other person’s watch, they would say, you know, I resign. The buck stops with me. I need to resign because someone has to take responsibility for this. To say something as asinine as it was a sloped roof, it was a safety concern. Okay. We know that’s nonsense.”
Dana Perino
Our third guest was Dana Perino, co-anchor of America’s Newsroom, co-host of The Five, New York Times bestselling author, and host of the insightful podcast “Perino On Politics.” Dana joined the Guy Benson Show to discuss recent events, focusing on President Biden’s recent conversation with Lester Holt, which was particularly scrutinized for Biden’s demeanor and his response to the Trump assassination attempt. Dana shared her opinion that the interview should have been called off earlier due to worries about Biden seeming weak and shifting the blame to others. She also explored the deep concerns within the Democratic Party regarding the possibility of replacing Joe Biden as their candidate for president and the potential for Vice President Kamala Harris to step into the role. Perino had this to say on whether or not to keep Joe Biden as the Democratic candidate:
“Why not be romantic and try something different? Throw caution to the wind. If you know its that bad and you know it’s not going to be (Kamala Harris), why not try something interesting?”
