Evening Edition: New At-Home Test For Early Detection Of Alzheimer’s

A new test designed to detect early signs of cognitive decline has been developed by at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. It is the Self-Administered Gerocognitive Exam, known as SAGE, can easily be taken anywhere and can be incorporated into primary care visits. Patients who have shared concerns and scored low on the SAGE test were up to 15 times more likely to have their cognitive concerns documented and treated.

FOX’s Tonya J. Powers speaks with Dr. Douglas Scharre, director of the Division of Cognitive Neurology at The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center and lead author of this study, who explains this new test and explains the importance of an early diagnosis.
