LA Issues Dog Breeding Permit HALT!

LA puts a MUCH-NEEDED temporary pause on dog breeding permits.

Adopt, don’t shop!

I’m Tomi Lahren, more next.

Animal shelters around the country are overwhelmed and overcrowded but the situation in LA is one of the most dire in the nation.

In a rare wise move, the LA City Council has enacted a temporary pause on dog breeding permits.

The moratorium will only be lifted once shelters are at or below 75% capacity for 3 consecutive months, and the pause could be automatically reinstated if shelter capacity rises above 75%.

As an animal lover and a rescue dog mom, I wish this moratorium would be both permanent and nationwide.

There are so many pets withering away in the shelter system waiting for a forever home, why would anyone want to shell out money to a breeder when they could rescue and save a life?

And here’s a reminder to prospective dog parents, do not get a dog if you are not ready, willing or able to make a LIFELONG commitment to that animal.

The staggering number of senior dogs dumped off at shelters while their owners opt to get a puppy instead, makes me SICK!

Good for LA for putting a pause on the breeding permits! Adopt don’t shop!!!
