TikTok on the Chopping Block

TikTok is on the chopping block but is this a good thing?

TikTokers are in a tizzy after a bipartisan coalition of representatives banded together to pass a bill that may send the CHINESE-OWNED app to the digital graveyard. 

But should we trust that our leaders have pure intentions or could this be another notch on their tyranny belt?

The plight of the TikTok influencers  is not my concern.

Here is what is, if Congress grants the government the authority to pick, choose, stifle, stipulate or even ban an app or platform, where does it end?

Sure, now it’s being billed as a mechanism to limit communist China’s influence and I agree with that premise. 

BUT what’s next? Do the government overlords then come after X and Elon? Do they classify other free speech platforms unfriendly to their narratives as bad actors and force a sale? 

I have no love for TikTok, but does this move just embolden the government tyrants and put our free speech in even more jeopardy?
