Rep. Steve Scalise on Working With Fetterman on a Border Deal: “We Absolutely Will Take Him Up on That”
House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, representative for the 12th district of Louisiana and author of Back in the Game: One Gunman, Countless Heroes, and the Fight for My Life, joined the Guy Benson Show today to discuss the Super Tuesday results and the upcoming 2024 presidential election. The pair also discuss the upcoming Laken Riley act and why Joe Biden is to blame for the ongoing crisis on the southern border. Finally, Rep. Scalise says that he would “absolutely” take Sen. Rep. Scalise has this to say on working on a bipartisan border bill using H.R. 2 as a starting point:
“We absolutely will take him up on that. And anyone else who actually cares about solving this problem. And Speaker Johnson’s made that very clear, that, you know, we will come to the table.”
Rep. Scalise also had this to say on Trump’s big win on Super Tuesday:
“I think they’re hungry for Donald Trump’s leadership. And you’re seeing that in the Republican primaries, but you’re also seeing it in the swing states where polling already is showing, you know, states like Michigan, where Donald Trump is leading Joe Biden by a large margin. I mean, the election’s eight months away, and that’s a long time in politics.”
